Okay, not really an open thread, since I barely have any readers. Whatever. The Vikings finally knocked the cobwebs from their gears and played some great football. It was a great, solid win by all sides, especially the backup Quarterback which needed to bail out poor Tavaris Jackson.
I have to admit I've never been a big fan of the current Viking's coach. But Childress finally pulled off a convincing win, and the foundations of this team are very solid. The glory days of the 1998 season still linger in my mind. I don't think this team is nearly as good on offense, but I also remember that Denny never cared much for that part of the game called "defense." Easy to overlook when you're scoring five touchdowns every game, but look where that left them. A 15-1 record and no Super Bowl.
The 2008 Vikings have a great defense. A really strong, formidable defense. That was always my favorite thing about the Bud Grant glory days of the 1970's. So as long as the offense can produce results (especially in that passing game), this will be a very good season for the Vikings.
The Packers-Cowboys game is tonight. I don't know which team to root for, but it should be great fun regardless. We'll probably want the Pack to lose, if only for the division standings. Take that, Cheeseheads! Ha ha ha ha! Ah, I'm just kidding, you guys are alright.
If you feel like chatting away, go ahead, knock yerselves out. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Update: Oh, I should probably also point out that I'm getting a Sega Dreamcast this Thursday. It's payday and I need some NFL2K1. Still the best football game ever made. You can thank EA's crummy monopoly for ruining sports games, kids. I'll take your flashy Madden against my NFL2K any day of the week. My game has late hits. Yours don't.

Videogames, football, D-Mag? What's not too love about your blog?!? Oh yeah... all the political stuff. ;)
Anyways, I'm a Broncos fan. After stealing one from the Chargers last week (grand theft is more like it), they barely held on against the Saints(?!?). No offense to Saints fans (pun intended), but with all of their injuries, the Broncos should have slaughtered them. It says alot about the characters of Brees and Bush that the Saints made a great game out of it.
F*** T.O. and P.R.
Well, I'm glad I can write something you enjoy. Three out of four ain't bad. I just happen to write a lot about what's on my mind, and what I'm paying attention to. The politics isn't fun for me much of the time, and hopefully I'll do a better job of not appearing so apocalyptic. Then again, it's much harder to discuss politics than, say, sports or music.
Anyway, thanks for visiting and commenting. I appreciate all the attention. I think I'll have Sunday football posts from here on out. It's a good way to get the frustration off your chest, haha!
Oh, and too bad about the Packers last night, but it was a terrific game. There were so many amazing highlight-worthy moments that I almost forgot about the Vikings! Hah! Who did we beat, again?
