The great thing about these instant polls is that, as Markos says, the American people completely run around the traditional media and their shaping of narratives. Much of the time, the post-debate spin is what decides who wins and loses. Now, thanks to internet culture and its instant access, the people can decide for themselves. They don't need to be told what to think by the gatekeepers.*
All in all, this is a very good thing for a democracy. Americans need to stop letting television tell them what to think. Television is a can of spray paint on your third eye.
*Unless, of course, Sigourney Weaver stops by. She can be my gatekeeper anytime ;)
