We are all about to receive our quarterly 401(k) statements, and I think we all agree that it's going to be ugly. Ugh, I don't even want to open my envelope. The program offered by TCF Bank (where I work in their main offices) allows for a variety of investments, but everything is so damned toxic now that I honestly don't know where to put the money. I'm half inclined to take my money out entirely and stuff it away in a small safe, before my retirement savings are completely wiped out in the financial apocalypse.
That, friends, is bad news. Just having to consider such a scenario speaks volumes. And being subjected to four weeks of McCain attack ads won't work.
