Aaargh, Matey, We'll Be Takin' Yer Trillion Dollars

Good grief, now America is being turned into a damned "Arthur" movie. And now you realize the severity of our financial troubles, and why George W. Bush is truly our worst President. The meltdown of Wall Street, after behaving like pirates in a casino (Yaargh!), is bad enough. Only this nation is crippled with record budget deficits and a $9.5 trillion debt. Remember when Ross Perot was on the teevee with his charts, and warning you about the $4 trillion debt?

I miss Bill Clinton. He made this nation very, very wealthy. And Bush and the Republicans looted it all under your noses. Gee, I sure hope we finally find all those Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Damn war only cost us $3 trillion.

Here's a short clip which should make you sleep easy tonight:

"I figure it will be at least half a trillion," Shelby, the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, said in an ABC television interview of a plan being put together by US authorities.

"But if you look at what the Fed has already done, and the extension of power to Treasury to deal with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, I believe we're talking about a trillion dollars," he said.

Senate Banking committee chairman Chris Dodd said: "I've been here 28 years. To listen to the language of last evening, we maybe were days away from a complete meltdown of our financial system."
